Russel Wright OCEANA Wood Centerpiece Serving Tray, 19 1/2" long x 4" wide

This sculpturally beautiful Oceana Centerpiece bowl, or Seaweed Tray,
looks just like the undulating sea plant of Wright's inspiration. The elegant modernism which this piece depicts was cause enough for its use on the cover of a 1940 Museum of Modern Art Catalog (Kerr, 3rd ed. pg.119). The soft curves of this tray form three individual yet connected compartments for serving. It is signed on the back with the Russel Wright signature burnt into the wood. In very excellent, almost pristine condition for an example of Wright's Oceana wood. A Rare example.
